N.H. Moves offers free N.H. state park passes

The New Hampshire Governor’s Council on Physical Activity and Health has again partnered with the New Hampshire Parks and Recreation Division to provide residents with a passport for free summer admission to New Hampshire residents to state parks.

The Granite State 90 Day Challenge is an opportunity to explore some of the state’s 93 state parks. During registration, a Challenge Passport will be provided that includes free access to these select New Hampshire state parks from June 1 to Aug. 31. They include the following parks:

Bear Brook State Park, Allenstown (no beach access), Miller State Park, Peterborough, Moose Brook State Park, Gorham, Odiorne Point State Park, Rye; Rollins State Park, Warner; Rye Harbor State Park, Rye; Umbagog Lake State Park, Cambridge/Errol; and Winslow State Park, Wilmot.

New Hampshire residents can use the passport to explore New Hampshire’s natural beauty while keeping active, according to a press release from New London Hospital, which is also challenging everyone to take part in the 90-Day Challenge to include more physical activity, 20 minutes or more per day, in the summer months.

When visiting these state parks, visitors must present their 90-Day Challenge Passport and a valid New Hampshire driver’s license. Youth participating in the challenge are eligible for free access if they have a Passport and are with a participating adult.

Plenty of park properties in New Hampshire don’t charge admission, also. Those interested can check out some of the Recreational Rail Trails that make it easy to get a 20 minute walk, run, hike or bike in.
