LEBANON – New Hampshire Sen. Maggie Hassan visited Timken Aerospace on May 29 to tour the facility, meet with employees, and discuss the importance of supporting innovative businesses that are helping to create jobs and boost economic development in the region and across the state, according to a press release.

Hassan is a member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, which has jurisdiction on aviation issues, as well as the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, where she is focused on strengthening job training and workforce development.

“Timken Aerospace is creating jobs right here in New Hampshire and helping to move our economy forward, manufacturing innovative products that help position the Granite State as a leader in the aerospace industry,” Hassan said in the press release. “I’m focused on working to ensure that innovative businesses like Timken have the support and strong workforce they need to continue thriving in New Hampshire.”

Todd Laquerre, plant manager at Timken Aerospace, said the company is a world-leading manufacturer of bearings and mechanical power transmission products, with two facilities in New Hampshire.

“As we continue striving to make global industries stronger, we are grateful for Senator Hassan’s commitment to supporting businesses like ours and her efforts to strengthen workforce development. We look forward to continue working together to make sure we have the highly-skilled workers we need to continue growing our business here in New Hampshire,” Laquerre said.

As part of her efforts to support innovative businesses, Hassan introduced the Gateway to Careers Act to expand economic opportunity for Granite Staters and Americans and ensure that innovative businesses have the strong workforce they need to succeed, according to the press release.

The Timken Company engineers, manufactures, and markets bearings, gear drives, belts, chain couplings, lubrication systems and related products, and offers a spectrum of powertrain rebuild and repair services. Timken’s Lebanon facility focuses on aerospace applications.
