NEWPORT — Carolyn (Buck) Putnam, 81, passed peacefully in her sleep on June 1, 2018 at Sullivan County Healthcare.
She was born on April 16, 1937 in Crossville, Tennessee. Carolyn married Roger Putnam and enjoyed many years together raising a family. Before Roger’s death on May 1, 1984, the pair moved from Connecticut to New Hampshire to raise Black Angus cows on their beloved 40-acre farm.
Carolyn will be remembered for being constantly on the move and for her passionate love of dancing.
She is predeceased by her husband, Roger Putnam; her mother, Pauline Hoskins; and her children, Paula Churchill (July 26, 2012) and Michael Putnam (Jan. 18, 2015). She is survived by her children, Pam Carter of Phoenix, Arizona, Pamela Kemp and her husband Michael of Sunapee, New Hampshire, and Brian Putnam of New Britain, Connecticut.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for Woodlawn in Newport, Clough Center in New London, and Sullivan County Healthcare in Unity for their tremendous care and support in Carolyn’s journey.
Per the family’s request, services will be private. Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
