CHESTER, Vt. — Sign-up will begin on Monday, June 11 for the Whiting Library Summer Reading Program, “Libraries Rock.”
Activities for the reading programs include stories, songs and music, group games, musical crafts, art projects, science experiments, a hike, and more.
The 2018 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, preschool through young adults, offering programs, prize drawings, story time, and an Ice Cream and Tie-Dye Party to celebrate the program.
The Rockin’ Friday Story Time Program will take place 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, July 6 with “Dancin’ and Rhythm;” and 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, July 13 with “Science and Music.”
Also on Friday, July 13, at 3 p.m., a very special guest performance will take place with Ed Popielarczyk presenting “Comedy Magic, Ring Master Storytelling, Balloon Twisting, and Flea Circus” Further summer programs will include the following: 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, July 20, “Rocks Around the Clock;” 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, July 27, “Let’s ‘Make’ Music;” 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, “Rhyming and Chiming;” and 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, the Ice Cream and Tie Dye Party.
