FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Anthony Taylor Gillette II, 35, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida passed away suddenly on June 2, 2018. He was born in Hollywood, Florida on Feb. 13, 1983.
He is survived by his father Anthony (Tony) Gillette and mother Alanna Marsh Gillette; sister Kelley Gillette, M.D., and brother, Daniel Gillette. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in South Florida, California and the New England area. He was preceded in death by grandfathers James A. Marsh, Jr. and Cleon Gillette; grandmother, Mafalda Gillette and aunt Linda Gillette Stevens.
Anthony grew up in Plantation, Forida, St. Louis, Missouri, Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada. As a child, he participated in all sports, including basketball, baseball, soccer and skiing. He graduated from Silverado High School in Las Vegas in 2001 and moved to South Florida soon after, where he attended Broward College. He was an avid reader, especially of comics, and was a self-professed film critic. You wouldn’t recognize him without his headphones on, as he enjoyed all types of music. He loved spending time with his family and exploring new restaurants — food was his passion. He was a lover of animals, especially cats. He had a playful personality, an infectious smile and was loved by all who knew him. His sister will miss his big hugs and brother will miss his in-depth conversations about movies. Anthony never ended a conversation or text without saying “I love you.” He will be truly missed and loved forever.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2018, followed by services at 6 p.m. at Fred Hunters Downtown Fort Lauderdale Home, 718 South Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale.
