CLAREMONT — All are welcome to join Claremont city officials at 12:30 p.m. Friday June 8 at the Baby Steps Family Assistance Program to celebrate the center’s recent expansion. Baby Steps Family Assistance is a nonprofit community action program located in the One-4-All building at 169 Main St.
Baby Steps added an additional room to its current location at the beginning of May.
Since 2012, working hand-in-hand with many community partners and their clients, Baby Steps Family Assistance Program has provided clothing for children and their families. The program is supported by the community with donations of “gently loved” and new clothing in child and adult sizes, all according to a press release from the City of Claremont.
Baby Steps provides a robust referral network for those in need, fresh vegetables weekly supported by Willing Hands of Vermont, diapers and basic toiletry supplies that cannot be purchased with state EBT, “baby blessing baskets” for newborn babies, and uplifting women’s and men’s bags. The services are free of charge to families.
The center’s Clothing Closet is also available to all who are receiving any government assistance, and to grandparents and relatives raising children due to the opioid crisis. By providing these services, Baby steps is making a measurable difference in Claremont, according to the press release.
