Class of 10 at MRA to graduate Saturday

SUNAPEE — The Class of 2018 at Mount Royal Academy includes 10 students, six of the 10 have committed to a four-year college, while the remaining four are all entering the armed services, Army, Air Force and Marines.

They will graduate at a 10 a.m. ceremony on Saturday, June 9.

The highest award, the Sempter Altius, will be announced during the graduation exercise.

Graduating seniors and their future plans include Kolbe Bocko, U.S. Marines; Rosalie Boyd, U.S. Army; Scott Boyd, U.S. Army; Gabriel Edwards, U.S. Air Force; Joshua Griffin, SNHU; Alexander Normandin, Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio; Leonidas Souliotis, SNHU; Ezekiel Swenson, UNH; Peter Thibault, Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio, and Peter Yost, UNH.

Bocko and Thibault will be giving the senior address. Kolbe is president of Student Government and Peter is president of the National Honor Society.

Professor Scott Sollom of Francican University will provide the keynote address at commencement. In his own words, Professor Sollom’s most shining accomplishment is his marriage of 20 years.

Dr. Sollom has been a theology professor at Franciscan for 12 years.

On June 10, Mount Royal Academy will have graduated 87 students since 2003 with 70 of those graduates coming after 2010. That was the year the school committed to the PreK-12 education model.

“We are really starting to see the fruit with each graduating class,” said Headmaster Derek Tremblay.
