Schedules for next year have been mailed home.
From Thursday, June 7 through Wednesday, June 13, students and families should make an appointment to discuss schedule changes. If you would like to schedule an appointment to meet with your student’s counselor, please contact our guidance administrative assistant, Shelly Hudson, at 865-9657.
If we do not hear from you by the end of the add/drop period, we will assume you do not have any changes you would like to request. We will have a short add/drop period at the beginning of the year for students who complete courses over the summer, or have unforeseen situations arise.
If your student’s schedule has a note from his/her counselor please make sure your student follows up with her as soon as possible. Please keep in mind classes fill up quickly.

Coaching for Captains
Second Growth has created an innovative and dynamic program for athletes in the Upper Valley called Coaching for Captains. Athletes who will be freshmen, sophomores and juniors for the 2018-2019 school year are eligible to participate. The program will promote a culture of success on and off the field of play, in the classroom, and throughout the community by developing skills to help participants become effective and comfortable leaders.
Participants will gain the following tasks:
• Maintain a positive climate in their school community and on their team
• Keep themselves and teammates safe, sober, and sane on and off the field of play
• Stay at the top of their mental game with meditation and visual imagery
• Develop greater awareness of intuition
• Fuel their bodies to maximize performance
• Define and communicate visions and goals
The Coaching for Captains facilitators have all been highly successful athletes, team captains and coaches. The trainings are based in experiential education which means participants will learn skills and increase knowledge through action, reflection, and fun. Typically, there will be three core trainings during the school year that will take place in between sports seasons (September, November, and March) and optional advanced leadership training during the summer.
Additionally, there will be monthly Huddles to check-in with participants and focus on topics in greater depth.
Coaching for Captains is free and participants can also earn school credit for community service. However, the best reason to participate will be for the positive impact that it can have on an individual’s performance, their team, and their life.
If you would like athletes in your school to participate in Coaching for Captains, please contact us and we’ll get you started or just go to the Coaching for Captains tab on the Second Growth website under “programs” and click on the link for registration. “Like” Coaching for Captain on Facebook for regular updates on the program. And feel free to email [email protected] with any questions you may have.
Yours in leadership training, Nichole Gagnon and Sarah Little
