ROCKINGHAM. Vt. — An 18-year-old from Rockingham is facing charges of burglary, grand larceny and unlawful mischief in connection after allegedly stealing and damaging a vehicle.
Vermont State Police received a report at approximately 6:10 p.m. Thursday, June 7 that Garratt Aither, 18, of Rockingham had allegedly stolen a vehicle and “other things” from a residence in the area of Hall Bridge Road in the town of Rockingham, all according to a police press release. Later in the evening, the Springfield Police Department located the stolen vehicle and preformed a motor vehicle stop.
An investigation revealed that the operator was Aither, and he was subsequently placed under arrest for the charges stated above, police said. The stolen vehicle was also found to have been damaged.
In addition to the charges from the Vermont State Police, Springfield Police Department arrested Aither for suspicion of DUI drug and possession of stolen property, all according to the press release.
Aither was transported to Springfield Police Department for processing.
Aither was later released with a criminal citation, and is scheduled to appear on July 24 in Vermont Superior Court — Windham Criminal Division to answer to the charges.
