Experience New Hampshire highlights NH businesses

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) hosted her annual New Hampshire Business Day luncheon on Monday, June 11 with Granite State small business leaders, giving them an opportunity to hear directly from government leaders and key congressional officials about federal programs and agencies that support and offer research and technical assistance to businesses.

More than 350 guests enjoyed gourmet foods and drinks from restaurants, vineyards, breweries and culinary training programs from across the state, while also learning more about cultural and tourism opportunities in New Hampshire.

Speakers at the luncheon included Hassan, Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO), Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan, Federal Communications Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel, EU Ambassador to the US David O’Sullivan, and Dr. Anthony Fauci of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The event, which took place in the Kennedy Caucus Room in the Russell Senate Office Building, drew attendees including U.S. Senators Maggie Hassan (D-NH), Kamala Harris (D-CA), Joe Donnelly (D-IN), Jeff Merkley (D-WA), Mazie Hirono (D-HI), Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter (NH-01) and Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02), and other federal government officials.

Later in the day, at the ninth annual Experience New Hampshire reception, more than 40 New Hampshire businesses, restaurants, and vendors showcased their products and services, including New Hampshire beer, wines, a local ice-cream maker, and specialty foods, for policymakers and government officials in Washington.

Participants included Walpole Creamery, 603 Brewery, Anheuser-Busch, Beeline Skin Care, Coca-Cola of Northern New England, The Common Man Family of Restaurants, Echo Farm Puddings, FIRST, Granite State Candy Shoppe, Great North Aleworks, Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce, Gunther’s Goodies, LaBelle Winery, League of NH Craftsmen, Maple Ridge Sugar House, Michele’s Sweet Shoppe, Moonlight Meadery, New England Sweetwater Farm and Distillery, New Hampshire Food Bank, New Hampshire Furniture Masters, New Hampshire Job Corps, New Hampshire Maple Producers, New Hampshire Travel & Tourism Department, Nuttin Ordinary LLC, The Old Farmer’s Almanac, Port City Pretzels, RAM Printing, Rockingham Brewing Company, Rumbletree, Saint Anselm College, Smoky Quartz Distillery, Stonyfield Farm, Inc., Throwback Brewery, Tuckerman Brewing Company, Vicuña Chocolate, White Mountains Attractions Association, and Woodstock Inn Station & Brewery.
