NEWPORT — Larry Wiggins, Director of the Newport Public Works Department was guest speaker at the June 5th meeting of the Newport Service Organization.
He brought the group up to date on various jobs (present and future) to be completed in Newport as well as answering questions on the same topic.
The following requests that were granted included Five Scholarships Newport, Got Lunch Newport,
Millie’s Place, Newport Recreational Scholarship Summer Camp, Richards Free Library (carbon monoxide detectors), and EMS Newport (hydraulic stretchers and rail system).
Results of NSO election of officers 2018-2020 included Maura Stetson, president; Nancy Myers, vice president; Venita Nudd, recording dsecretary, and Linda Morrow, temporary treasurer.
Donna Germana has offered to chair the Christmas Party.
