Robert W. Amell

CLAREMONT — Robert W. “Bob” Amell, 71, of Claremont, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2018 at the Concord Hospice House with his loving and devoted wife, Nancy, by his side after a long and arduous battle with COPD.

Born in Claremont, Bob was the son of the late Bernard and Olive (LaClaire) Amell. Bob was educated in the local schools and continued his professional career at Cone-Blanchard Industries, Dartmouth and Dorr Woolen, and before retiring, in maintenance at Marion Phillips Apartments.

His pride and passion throughout his married life were his wife and family. He had a great sense of humor and a multitude of natural talents and abilities. In his leisure, he enjoyed a good game of horseshoes, hunting, motorcycling, snowmobiling, stock car races, camping, and most of all recently, Rving; taking several trips between Epsom, New Hampshire in the summer and Myrtle Beach and Florida in the winter.

Bob was predeceased by his brother-in-law, William Rivard.

Besides his beloved wife of 48 years, Nancy (Brooks) Amell, he is survived by sons, Robert and his companion Julie Garfield and Gary all of Claremont; a granddaughter, Brittney Amell of Newport; a grandson, Camron Amell of Claremont; three sisters, Bonnie Rivard of Ascutney, Vermont, Cheryl Broughan and husband Peter of Gill, Massachusetts, and Pamela Levesseur and husband Stuart of South Royalton, Vermont. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Bob’s wishes, there will be no services. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home in Epsom.
