UNITY — The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) has announced the in-progress construction of a box-culvert on 2nd NH Turnpike in Unity, and is warning commuters that they many need extra travel time due to the closure of alternate travel lanes.
This project will extend for approximately 750 feet and will be situated between Potato Hill Road to the west and Gilman Pond Road to the east.
A twin-culvert crossing has reached its service life, and is being replaced with a box culvert, according to the NHDOT.
The project is expected to take four weeks to complete and will require alternating one-way traffic during both daytime and nighttime hours. The NHDOT suggests that travelers and communters plan for extra time in the daily commute. Signage will be lighted, according to NHDOT.
