EXETER — Eleese Brennan Conroy, 86, a former resident of Newport, passed away on June 18, 2018 in Wolfeboro.
She was born in Claremont, N.H., on March 14, 1932 to Carolyn LeClair and Vincent John Brennan Jr. and graduated from Towle High School in Newport with the Class of 1950.
She earned her Registered Nursing degree from El Camino College in Los Angeles, Calif. Eleese was passionate about caring for her patients, especially at the Newport Hospital.
She cherished her daughters, Joanne Dawes and Mary Minobe; her five grandchildren, Aaron, Natasha, Nathan and Katie Burt, and Mik Minobe, and her two great- grandchildren.
For her entire life she had a love affair with animals, especially her beloved cats and dogs. She was affectionately known by many as Gramma Cat Lady. Eleese was happiest with a cat or dog – or both – on her lap, a book in her hand, and her family nearby.
She was preceded in death by her brother, John Brennan, and sisters, Dorothy Blair and Ruth Margulies, as well as other family and friends she held dear to her heart.
At the family’s request, burial will be private. Contributions to an animal rescue organization would warm her soul.
