NEW LONDON — The award-winning New London Barn Playhouse will present an adaptation of “Little Women” starting June 27.
Following the wildly successful run of “Camelot,” the New London Barn Playhouse invites all to continue the journey through the 86th Summer Season with a trip to Civil War-era Concord for the earnest and uplifting musical masterpiece “Little Women,” running June 27 – July 8, with shows at 7:30 p.m. and a Wednesday matinee performances at 2 p.m. and Sunday matinee performances at 5 p.m.
Louisa May Alcott’s timeless tale is brought to soaring musical life in an energetic adaptation.
Starring as Jo March is longtime “Barnie” Talia Suskauer, a recent Penn State graduate. Joining her at the March family hearth as Marmee March is Barn newcomer Neva Rae Powers who toured the Broadway production of “Little Women.” Longtime Barn fans will be delighted to see Craig MacDonald returning to the Barn stage as Mr. Laurence for this production, 40 years after he first appeared at the Barn. Amy Agostino features as Aunt March/Mrs. Kirk, while frequent guest Elliott Cunningham takes on the role of Professor Bhaer. The Barn will also welcome back director Chad Larabee, with original choreography from Barn newcomer Natalie Wisdom and inspiring musical direction from Robbie Cowan.
