RV catches fire on the road

By TORY DENIS
An older model traveling recreational vehicle was being driven up Paddy Hollow Road in Claremont when it caught fire.

Miranda and Vanessa Goodell, two sisters who were at home nearby, and a younger family member saw the RV go by with flames coming out of it, and said they yelled to the driver, “You’re on fire!”

The driver pulled over near the intersection of Madison Place and Paddy Hollow Road, and the occupants managed to escape the vehicle, the Goodell family said. The Goodells took several photographs of the vehicle fully engulfed in flames and with black smoke pouring from it. These images were dated approximately 2:51 to 2:55 p.m.

At about 3:15 p.m., the Claremont Fire Department was on scene, extinguishing the fire, which had left much of the front of the vehicle charred and destroyed. The flames were soon no longer visible.
