Old South Church will hold vigil for separated migrant families

WINDSOR, Vt. — In response to the national outcry over separation of migrant families at the US-Mexico border, Old South Church is hosting a vigil at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 30 at 146 Main St., Windsor in the Sanctuary.

The community is invited to gather for this time of “mediation, silent reflection, and shared, civilly-voiced expressions of lament and outrage,” according to organizers. Communities across the nation will be participating in rallies and vigils on Saturday. In Vermont, a rally was held in Montpelier on Monday night and one is being held in Burlington on Saturday, according to the church.

“This is an opportunity for citizens to gather and pause, seeking the spiritual center from which compassion and moral imagination arise. Please join us,” organizers said.
