Vermont State Police arrest alleged fugitive from justice

WESTMINSTER, Vt. — Troopers with the Vermont State Police – Westminster Barracks have arrested an alleged fugitive in Westminster, Vermont.

VSP troopers were made aware at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 27 of an extraditable felony arrest warrant for Matthew A. Cook, age 35, of Westminster. This warrant was out of the state of New Hampshire, all according to a press release from the VSP.

Cook was arrested at his residence in Westminster, Vermont, without incident, on a charge of being a fugitive from justice. The state police did not indicate the charges in connection with the original warrant.

Cook was subsequently issued a citation to appear at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 28 in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, and was held at the Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 bail.
