CLAREMONT — Roger Joseph Sargent was born on June 19, 1945 in Claremont, New Hampshire. He passed away at his home in North Carolina on Friday, June 15, 2018. In his life he worked as a volunteer fireman in Keene, New Hampshire before joining the United States Army in 1964. He earned the Bronze Star, Air Medal, five good conduct medals, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Army Commendation Medal during his 20 years of service.
Roger is predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Gladys Sargent, as well as five brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his brother Leonard E. Sargent Jr. and his sister June Bundy; as well as his daughters, Lori Stone and Sheri Williams; and his three grandchildren, Jonathon-Michael Kennett, Amber Kennett, and Hayden Williams; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will be holding a celebration of life at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14 at Mountain View Cemetery.
