WEATHERSFIELD, Vt. — World Under Wonder Playhouse is holding auditions for “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” which will be World Under Wonder Playhouse’s first youth-focused community production put on at WUW’s theater.
This will be a “wonderful fantastic tale that will involve many fanciful creatures, masks, costumes, and makeup designs.” Stage combat will be a fun aspect of this production, all according to WUW.
Auditions will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, July 9 and Tuesday, July 10 at the World Under Wonder Playhouse 5755 Route 5, Weathersfield. When using GPS, the address is 5755 US 5, Windsor Vermont.
The hours of this production will be in line with the summer camp to allow participants in the camp to just stay after to take part in the play. This will allow participants to not have to get picked up before coming back.
The production of “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” will be performed at 7 p.m. Aug. 23, 24, and 25, and at 2 p.m. Aug. 26.
A one-minute dramatic or comedic monologue is expected for auditions. It does not need to be from this play. Expect to stay for the full two hours take part in some acting exercises with the rest of the cast.
This is a family-focused production, ages 8-18. The Playhouse hopes to pull in full families to participate, not just children. All welcome to consider joining in with their youths if they have the opportunity.
Cost to participate is free; cast will be expected to buy their own jazz shoes and basic stage makeup for the show, along with a play T-shirt if they wish to get one.
