Bookstore will hold poetry reading and Open Mic session

COURTESY
BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. — Village Square Booksellers in Bellows Falls, Vermont, assisted by New Hampshire author and poet Jim Fowler, will host 2nd Saturday Open Mic at 1 p.m. Saturday July 14.

This month, the bookstore will feature a reading by Vermont Poet Laureate Chard deNiord, followed by an Open Mic session.

A selection of books will be available for sale and autographing. DeNiord is currently a professor of English at Providence College and the Poet Laureate of Vermont. He lives in Westminster West, Vermont with his wife, Liz.

The Open Mic is held by having poets take turns reading from their works or a favorite book. The poets sit around a circle, so there is no need to be nervous about standing in front of a room for “newbie” poetry readers, according to organizers.

For event reservations, call (802) 463-9404 or visit www.villagesquarebooks.com/event/poetry-open-mic.
