RINDGE — New Hampshire State Police have identified the body of a deceased male found on July 10, off Route 119 in Rindge, as a Massachusetts man reported missing last month.
New Hampshire’s Chief Medical Examiner, Dr. Jennie V. Duval, has determined that the deceased is Brandon Chicklis, 20, of Westminster, Massachusetts, according to a press release from New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald and New Hampshire State Police Colonel Christopher Wagner.
Duval has also determined that the manner of death is homicide. The cause of death is being withheld pending further investigation, according to the press release.
On July 10, the Rindge Police Department received a report of a possible body located alongside Eastbound Route 119 in Rindge. A private citizen jogging in that area made the report to law enforcement.
State police conducted a search of the area and Chicklis’s body was located near the roadside. The circumstances that led to Chicklis’s death are under investigation, according to police.
Chicklis was last accounted for around 1 p.m. on June 23, and told family he was going to visit a relative in Windham, New Hampshire, according to the New Hampshire State Police. He had not been seen since, and had not been in contact with family or friends.
Investigators are seeking anyone with information on this crime, as well as anyone who may have made the following observations: Anyone who saw Mr. Chicklis or knew of his activities on Saturday, June 23, 2018; anyone who saw any motor vehicle stopped on the eastbound side of Route 119, east of its intersection with Route 202, specifically between the intersections Route 119 with North Street and East Main Street in Rindge, anytime between June 23 and June 25; and anyone who saw Chicklis’s vehicle, a gray, four-door Honda Civic with Massachusetts license plate “7NA 723” from June 23 through June 25.
It is believed that his car traveled to Rindge, New Hampshire from the area of Westminster, Massachusetts sometime between those dates. The car was later found by state police at the Hannaford Supermarket parking lot on U.S. 202 in Rindge.
Anyone with this information or any other information about this crime is asked to contact Sgt. Shawn Skahan of the NHSP at (603) 223-8729.
