WESTMINSTER, Vt. — During the early evening hours of July 15,Vermont State Police troopers from the Westminster Barracks conducted a saturation patrol in Windham and Windsor counties, concentrating their efforts on vehicles being operated on Interstate 91. The focus of the patrol was to identify and deter aggressing driving and impaired operation while enforcing motor vehicle laws, while promoting safe driving on Vermont roadways.
During the patrol, troopers initiated 28 traffic stops, while issuing a several VCVCs (traffic tickets) and written warnings for various motor vehicle violations. One operator was screened for suspected impaired operation (DUI).
The Vermont State Police would like to remind all motorists to consider utilizing a designated driver or seek alternative transportation when planning to consume alcohol.
