Taste of Sunapee is well received

SUNAPEE — A very grateful thank you to the newest donor to help our celebration, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust has donated $500. We applaud and are thankful for your community spirit and involvement, a spokesperson for the Sunapee Sestercentennial coming up in August said.

On Saturday night, July 14, the Taste of Sunapee was hosted by five organizations: Stacey’s Smoothies; The Livery; The Sunapee Historical Society; Sunapee Recreation Department; and the Sunapee Police and Fire Associations.

They all hosted and provided refreshments at locations in the Harbor and Village offering residents and visitors the opportunity to come and visit with the neighbors and reacquaint with the seasonal folks coming back to town.

There were members of the Sestercentennial Committee at each venue to provide information about the celebration events and provide schedules and information. Examples of the commemorative display items were available that can be purchased at various locations and on-line through the store on the web site- sunapeenh250.org .

Almost 900 servings of spaghetti and meatballs, Woodbine desserts, bread and salad, sliders and smoothies and the most popular- root beer floats in commemorative mugs- we served at no cost to the participant. Thank you to all our hosts.

We are still taking registrations for the Sestercentennial Parade.

Watch for regular emails about events planned for the celebration, check the website or go to the Project Sunapee Sunapee Happenings Calendar to get a listing of all activities from the many town organizations and agencies.

Any questions can be emailed to the Committee at [email protected] or by calling 763-2212.
