CLAREMONT — Police are seeking more information after Claremont resident Scott Quintey, 68, died on Saturday as a result of injuries he received in an early-morning collision.

Claremont emergency services responded at approximately 7:23 a.m. Saturday, July 21 to a motor vehicle accident on Charlestown Road involving a pick-up truck and a pedestrian.

The accident took place just south of the Buena Vista Road intersection, all according to Claremont police.

The vehicle involved was a 2015 GMC 1500 pick-up truck driven by Jesse Hargrove, 58, of Claremont.  The pickup truck was traveling southbound at the time of the collision.

Police identified the pedestrian on Saturday as Quintey.

An initial investigation determined that Quintey had entered the travel portion of the roadway just prior to the collision, police said.

Following the crash, Quintey was rendered immediate aid by other motorists who came upon the scene, several of whom had medical training.

He was transported to Valley Regional Hospital via Golden Cross Ambulance, but later succumbed to the injuries.

The operator of the truck was cooperative during the investigation, police said.

The initial on-scene investigation did not reveal evidence that speed, impairment, or distraction were factors resulting in the collision.

The collision remains under investigation.

Assisting the Claremont Police Department in this investigation is the Sullivan County Attorney’s Office and the New Hampshire Medical Examiner’s Office.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information relative to this crash is asked to call Sgt. Justin Laffin of the Claremont Police Department at (603) 542-9538.
