MERIDEN — An opening reception will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 28 at The Aidron Duckworth Art Museum in Meriden for two exhibits. An artist’s talk will take place at 4 p.m.
“Inside Out,” a show by guest artist Galen Cheney, presents an exciting group of recent paintings. Using the materials as a guide, Cheney assembles complex works full of tangible joy and deft execution. The exhibition runs through Sept. 9.
“Aidron Duckworth – Exhibition XXXII – Transparent Bodies” examines a signature series beginning in 1979. these paintings and drawings, created during a time of “great personal struggle,” would become some of the most important and prescient works in the Duckworth collection, all according to a press release from the museum. The exhibition will run through Oct. 28.
The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday, or any time by appointment, at 21 Bean Road, Meriden. Entry is free and the building is accessible to all. For more information, visit www.aidronduckworthmuseum.org.
