After Monday, July 16, when the temperature hit 91, things started cooling down. On Thursday, July 19, there was some very refreshing air at daybreak with a low of 46 degrees. In Northern New Hampshire the morning lows were in the 30’s.
The Observatory atop Mountain Washington was also cool at 39 degrees.
Friday and Saturday were as nice as nice can be…perfect beach and golfing weather or anything else on the list of things to do. Not so on Monday as the rain moved in with threats of thundershowers on Tuesday and Wednesday
The rain was also joined by very high humidity so it was time to put good weather things on the back burner for a few days.
Waiting for the anticipated rain to fall on Sunday just didn’t materialize. One little shower left less than one-tenth of an inch of rain. However, that shortfall was corrected during the night on Sunday when 1.50 inches arrived. And that was the most rain in Sullivan County in quite some time. And it was most welcome by many folks including farmers and those with vegetable gardens.
