Saturation patrol results in 29 stops

WESTMINSTER, Vt. — During the evening hours of July 27, Vermont State Police troopers from the Westminster Barracks conducted a saturation patrol in Windham and Windsor counties, concentrating their efforts on detecting and locating impaired operators, while promoting safe driving on Vermont roadways.

During the patrol, troopers initiated 29 traffic stops, while issuing a several VCVCs (traffic tickets) and written warnings for various motor vehicle violations. One operator was screened for suspected impaired operation (DUI) and three designated drivers were discovered.

The State Police would like to remind all motorists to consider utilizing a designated driver or seek alternative transportation when planning to consume alcohol or drugs.
