Thursday, July 19
8 a.m.: A burglary was reported; three stolen chainsaws from Avery Road.
10:37 a.m.: Request from Newport Police to contact subject on High Street regarding vehicle crash in Newport. No one came to the door.
11:41 a.m.: Assisted Sunapee Fire and NL Ambulance with a juvenile male with head injury on West Hill road. Patient was accidentally hit with a door. Mother transported patient to hospital.
11:55 a.m.: Individual wanted the police department to know that he and another person will be doing work for the Lake Sunapee Protective Association on Loon Island, making repairs to the lighthouse.
12:18 p.m.: Individual called to report he had found multiple cigarette butts in his back yard on Apple Hill. Police will do additional patrols.
2:50 p.m.: Individual reported a missing dog, black Lab with a pink collar.
Friday, July 20
12 p.m.: Individual called to report a threatening message stating that she has multiple warrants against her and she must call the number provided. Realized it was a scam and notified police.
2:40 p.m.: New London Dispatch advised of a black canine that had been struck by a vehicle on Route 11 near Pleasant Acres. Upon arrival, police determined the deceased animal to be a juvenile fox off the shoulder of the East bound lane of Route 11. Fish and Game were notified.
3:03 p.m.: Individual advised police that a dark-colored Volkswagen almost hit her vehicle and was swerving all over the road traveling East on Route 11 past Edgemont Road. Unable to locate vehicle; registered to Newport. Newport Police were notified.
Saturday, July 21
9:28 a.m.: Report of a 911 hang-up; on call back, an elderly female answered, saying she is fine, was a misdial.
3:55 p.m.: Person reported an unwanted person, an elderly male, in their home.
10:40 p.m.: Individual reported a vehicle in a ditch on Rolling Rock Road. Driver accidentally drove into ditch while turning around. Officer stood by until a towing company removed vehicle.
Sunday, July 22
12:09 p.m.: New London Dispatch advised that temporary traffic lights on Route 11 near Sleeper Road are not cycling correctly for East Bound traffic. Police notified DOT.
12:24 p.m.: Individual contacted police looking for assistance with a bobcat in the yard. Police relayed information to Fish and Game officer to have him call.
2:40 p.m.: Citizen reported fallen branches in the area of Lake Avenue blocking Burkehaven Hill Road. Branches were cleared.
Monday, July 23
11:02 a.m.: Individual stopped and reported a piece of heavy equipment being dropped off on Clearwater Drive blocking roadway and tearing it up. The road was scheduled to be dug up next day for sewer line.
11:10 a.m.: Person called to report a very large snapping turtle living under her dock at Jobs Creek. Police provided phone number for NH Fish & Game for assistance in removing the turtle.
4:39 p.m.: Individual reported his chain saw was stolen off his front porch on lower Main Street.
Tuesday, July 24
8:01 a.m.: A silver Subaru Legacy had been parked at the Veterans Field for at least past 26 hours; police had the vehicle towed away.
6:15 p.m.: Received a report of an older gentleman wearing camo with a rifle had walked into the woods at the bottom of Trow Hill Road. There was no vehicle in the area. Checked the property and the entire wood line in the area. Not able to locate the subject. Research of N.H. hunting seasons revealed that the only animal in season in coyote.
9:01 p.m.: Received a report of a truck with a trailer parked behind the hydro building next to town hall. Subject had backed his Toyota 4 Runner, with a small camper trailer attached, down a path behind the building and had set it up to spend the night. He said he thought it would be alright. Police explained he cannot camp on town property and needed to move on. He apologized and was very cooperative; headed out toward Boston to find a campsite.
11:51 p.m.: Person reported a boat in the harbor playing loud music and the people on it being very loud.
Wednesday, July 25
2 p.m.: Individual request local police to contact police department in New York to do a welfare check on his daughter, who is 70 and has dementia. Daughter was checked on.
