Don’t text and drive

To the Editor,

We have a lot of foolish people that are driving on the roads. They don’t obey the laws and the result could be deadly. I’m talking about drivers that are texting or talking on the phone while driving. You can go anywhere in this city and see them. They drive past the police station, Pleasant Street, and Washington Street. These people don’t care because they think nothing is going to hurt them, and then it does. There is plenty of places to stop and do your texting and talking. Don’t take a chance. If you are driving it could be a family member you hit. I don’t know what the penalty is and I haven’t read of anybody getting caught. But what ever it is I hope it’s enough. Send a message that this isn’t going to be acceptable.

It doesn’t matter whether you have business or not. Pull over. By the way, it isn’t just young people that I have seen.

By the way, I’ve also noticed cars and trucks go by me and you can’t see who’s driving or sitting in the passenger seat. I thought there was a law in New Hampshire where that’s illegal.

I wouldn’t want to be a police officer and had to stop a vehicle and couldn’t see in the vehicle.
