School district plans Back to School Festival

CLAREMONT — The S.A.U. #6 Back to School Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 at Barnes Park in Claremont.

Students and families are welcome to come celebrate the start of school. Free backpacks will be given to public school students enrolled in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 in S.A.U. #6.

A free lunch with hot dog, chips, and water will be provided for all who attend. Dylan Tenney Magic will perform at noon.

The back-to-school event will include entertainment, giveaways, and more. Several local organizations, including Ready Set Grow, Encounter, Claremont Parks and Recreations, Stevens High School, Disnard Elementary School, churches and other community service organizations plan to take part. The event will take place rain or shine.
