Another heat wave hung around for three days earlier this week and it dragged in some very high humidity leading to rainstorms, very heavy at times. By Thursday the high afternoon temperatures were taking a step backwards and dragging down the humidity along the way.
Back-to-school shoppers have been making the rounds in anticipation of another year school starting the last week of August. Football practice for most area high school teams started on Monday, Aug. 27,
A batch of refreshing air moved into the area on Friday and pushed the humidity out to sea. It as a perfect beach day. That all changed on Saturday. The humidity started to increase a little and scattered showers were in the forecast. The outlook for the new week starting Sunday had possible showers mentioned every day.
