NEWPORT — This year marks the 45th Annual Apple Pie Crafts Fair, touted as one of New England’s longest running craft fairs. The fair will take place 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 on the Newport Town Common on North Main Street in Newport.
More than 130 booths of handmade crafts, including pottery, woodworking, glass, fiber arts and more will be available for visitors to stroll through and visit.
The fair also features live music, an apple pie contest and apple pie sales, and the famous Firemen’s Chicken Barbecue.
Special apple desserts a la mode, including apple cider floats, will be available in the big tent in the middle of the Common.
In addition to all of the festivities on the Town Common, fair-goers can also enjoy the Richards Library Festival going on the same day, and which features an outstanding book sale, cookie walk, crafts for children to do, a children’s tent, and lunch on the library porch.
Free admission to all. The fair will take place rain or shine.
