Library will host 62nd annual book sale and festival

NEWPORT — The 62nd Annual Richards Free Library Festival and Book Sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at the library across the street from the Apple Pie Crafts Fair.

The library will have thousands of books to browse. Beautiful gardening, arts and crafts, and cookbooks from a private collection; a large selection of military and non-fiction, and an especially good assortment of fiction.

The Book Sale will have an 8 a.m. admission for Friends of the Library (interested individuals can join that morning). The Cookie Walk, always a sell out, will features cookie classics as well as secret family recipes.

Luncheon on the Porch Library will be offered by the Library Trustees. The library’s Children’s Tent has new activities to entertain the little ones. And don’t miss this year’s Raffle, which features the following prizes: a Doll House by Mindy Thorpe, a slate painting of the Newport Firehouse by Martha Lovely, Brunch at the Old Courthouse, a Stephen King pop-up book, a gift card to Salt Hill Pub, and two book collections.
