CORNISH – Bruce B. Tracy, 69, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018. He was born on March 10, 1949 in Windsor, Vermont to Rena and Floyd Tracy. He attended Cornish Elementary School and was a 1967 graduate of Stevens High School and earned his Associates degree in Automotive Mechanics from the Vo Tech in Manchester, New Hampshire.
He worked for Joy Manufacturing as a machinist, then moved to Trumbull–Nelson as a carpenter and the last several years in the Engineering Department at DHMC.
On Oct. 6, 1984 Bruce married Debra (Cooper) Tracy. They made their home in Cornish, New Hampshire where they raised their two daughters.
Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Deb; his two beautiful daughters, Megan Tracy of Cornish, New Hampshire and Katelyn Mosher of Waterford, Vermont; sisters, Janet McFaul (Daniel) of North Haverhill, New Hampshire, and Karen Shute (David) of Claremont, New Hampshire; his precious grandchildren, Hunter and Emma, Alexandra and Landon; his mother-in-law, Martha Cooper of Cornish; his sisters-in-laws, Amy Cooper of Cornish, and Carrie Hutchins (Todd) of Cumberland, Maine; brother-in-law, Eric Cooper (Darlene) of Cornish; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Leslie Tracy of Bradenton, Florida.
Bruce was a little league coach in Cornish for several years, a volunteer for many years at the Cornish Fair for the PTO and was a longtime member of the Cornish Zoning Board Committee. For many years he raced at the Claremont Speedway where he won the Track Championship in the Street Stock Division in 1983. Bruce also enjoyed woodworking, the annual family camping trip to Maine, hiking, canoeing, NASCAR, attending family gatherings, watching his daughters’ and grandchildren’s sporting events, and spending time with friends and family.
There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, Aug. 26 at the Cornish Town Hall from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. At Bruce’s request, casual attire, come as you are.
