Nonprofit offers college planning overview workshop

CONCORD — New Hampshire high school seniors, parents and guardians are invited to attend a free college planning workshop, hosted by The NHHEAF Network Organizations, a nonprofit organization based in Concord. This 90-minute workshop, led by the expert college counseling staff from the Organizations’ Center for College Planning (CCP), will provide helpful tips and strategies and is designed to prepare attendees for the college admissions process.

This workshop will be offered from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on four different dates at the Organizations’ Concord campus: Wednesday, Sept. 5, Thursday, Sept. 6, Tuesday, Sept. 11, and Wednesday, Sept. 12.

Topics addressed during the workshop include: the application timeline; searching for colleges; essential components of the application; questions to ask on a college tour; college essay pointers; financial aid basics.

“Attending one of these workshops provides attendees the tools they need to begin or further a student’s college admissions process,” said College Outreach Specialist Angela Castonguay.  “We provide helpful, practical tools and tips in a relaxed, small-group setting to help families determine the path to post-secondary education appropriate for their student.”

The NHHEAF Network Organizations has more than 55 years of experience in helping families plan and pay for higher education. The Organizations’ Center for College Planning (CCP) provides New Hampshire students and families with valuable information about the college planning process – from understanding savings options and college admissions requirements, to applying for financial aid and scholarships.

There is no cost to attend a workshop, but registration is encouraged. To register, call (888) 747-2382, Ext. 119.
