NEWBURY — The Fells Historic Estate and Gardens broke ground on their much needed state-of-the-art outdoor pavilion with an official ground breaking ceremony on Aug. 30 in Newbury. This beautiful new structure, to be named The Fells Education and Community Events Pavilion, will include an ecology exhibit room, restrooms, storage, and a reheat kitchen.
The many educational programs and events at The Fells will have an ideal new home. In addition there will be a new nursery and safer parking adjacent to the pavilion. The Fells is also a very popular wedding venue and this new pavilion will be an ideal place to handle weddings as well as many other functions without disturbing the wonderful landscape, all according to a press release.
It will also allow for outdoor classes and exhibits which will enable young people and adults alike to have the advantage of being closer to nature and The Fells’ 83-acre classroom.
