SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Valley Music Entertainment and Friends are making arrangements to host their annual karaoke contest for David’s House. They are asking for donations of gift cards, gift certificates or merchandise. Some of these items would be raffled off to help raise funds for David’s Hosue and other items will be used as prizes for winners of the competition. The raffles are a big draw to non-singers as a way of participtating in helping to raise money for this cause. The contest has been held for 19 years with great success with the help of past generous donations from the community. Last year the event raised $2,600.
All proceeds go directly to David’s House, a 501 (c) (3) organization that supports families with children receiving treatment through Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
The karaoke contest will be held on Oct. 21 at the VFW club in Springfield, Vermont, which has donated the hall for the event.
