Alice E. Robinson

CHARLESTOWN — Alice E. Robinson, 81, of Woodrise Road in Charlestown died peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 9 after a long battle with kidney disease at Genesis Keene Center.

She was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada on Aug. 8, 1937 the daughter of Perrl B. and Mary O. (Ryan) Burbank. Alice was employed at the White Cottage Snack Bar in Woodstock, Vermont for many years. She later went on to own and operate Alice’s Restaurant in Ascutney, Vermont and The Future Restaurant in Claremont. She enjoyed going on motorcycle rides as a passenger. Alice was an avid race fan and sponsored many cars and races at the Claremont Speedway.

She enjoyed listening to the music of Stan, Jr., but above all her family and her grandsons were her greatest treasure. Members of her family include a son, Raymond Crosby and his wife Stephanie, of Charlestown; two grandsons, Brendan Crosby and Collin Crosby; a sister, Patricia Corrow and her husband Farrel, of Claremont; three brothers, Robert Burbank and his wife Nancy, of The Villages, Florida, Patrick Burbank and his wife, Debbie, of Michigan, and Joseph Burbank, Crescent City, Florida; a special cousin, Joe Jellow, of Nova Scotia; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sheryl Crosby and two brothers, Bernard Burbank and Peter Burbank.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan Street with the Rev. Arockia Antony, officiating. Committal will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until the time of services.
