Cornish General Store will be closing at the end of September. Owners Mark Abrams and Maureen Jenks said that they did not come to this decision easily. “We had a clear vision and high hopes for the store. Unfortunately those visions didn’t pan out,” they wrote in a statement issued Saturday. “We would like to thank all that helped re-open Cornish General Store,” the statement continued. “There were so many of you, who planned and worked along side us, before the store even opened.
“Maureen and I express our gratitude to all our customers, you made the business enjoyable. We also would like to thank Michelle, Rachael, and Abbie for being a terrific fun, hard working, and loyal staff. Please when you see them over the next 2 weeks wish them well. And many thanks to Peter, Devon, Hayden, Kaylee, Cameron, Sierra, Will and Drew, Carlin, Blane, and Emily.
“For the next 2 weeks will be brewing the Vermont Coffee, making breakfast sandwiches, cookies. We will be selling the newspaper and McNamara milk. Later this week please check the Connect Cornish for information about our inventory sale.”
