Artists town meeting planned

BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. — The potluck Artists Town Meeting for September will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20, 6-8 p.m. at 33 Bridge Street (home to WOOL-FM and several artists’ studios), in Bellows Falls Vermont.  Artists, artisans and local food growers are all encouraged to attend.

The focus of the quarterly meetings is to bring creative people together in order to share ideas and a meal. “The more we know each other and can identify ourselves as a constituency the more strength and credibility we gain.” McBride explained. “There is an ever-growing community of working artists and local growers in our midst, all of whom are contributing greatly to the cultural and economic vitality of our communities. One of RAMP’s many roles is to be an advocate for these artists. In order to be effective in that role, RAMP creates and participates in opportunities to hear from local artists and assist them in making community connections that benefit us all.”

The meeting agenda will include artist project updates, a debriefing of: May is Art Month, and the Open Studio tour held on Memorial Day weekend. Discussion of the Bellows Falls Third Friday Gallery Walk and the upcoming VT State Craft Open Studio Tour in October. Additionally, decisions will be made about sponsoring a Classic Movie Night film at the Bellows Falls Opera House.

RAMP is committed to collaborating and co-hosting Artists Town Meetings throughout the year. The meetings are informal and open to everyone. Interested participants are asked to RSVP by e-mailing: [email protected], with “Artists Town Meeting RSVP” in the subject line, or by calling 802-463-3252.
