WESTMINSTER, Vt. — Marching in the Eastern States Exposition has been a long-time annual event for New England Kurn Hattin Homes for Children. Traveling from Westminster, Vermont every September, the marching band members look forward to the festivities and performing in the parade.

The Eastern States Exposition, known as “The Big E”, promotes agriculture, education, industry and family entertainment while preserving New England heritage. The first Eastern States Exposition began in 1916 and has been held every year except during the two World Wars. Located at 1305 Memorial Avenue in West Springfield, Massachusetts, The Big E is held every autumn and opens on the second Friday after Labor Day and runs for 17 days.

Part of the original motivation for creating the exposition was to encourage the productive development of young people. Many young people are represented during The Big E including marching in the parade.

So come enjoy a grand New England and Kurn Hattin tradition at The Big E on Friday, Sept. 28.

See you at 5 p.m. along the parade route!

A place of hope, perseverance, sense of worth, nurturance, and compassion since 1894, Kurn Hattin Homes for Children provides a safe home and quality education for boys and girls, ages 5-15. Kurn Hattin transforms the lives of children and their families forever. www.kurnhattin.org
