UPDATE: This morning at 10:45 a.m., troopers from the Vermont State Police responded to a single vehicle fatal crash on I-91 at mile marker 66 in Hartford, Vt.. Initial investigation shows that the vehicle was traveling south on 91. The vehicle traveled into the median and rolled over coming to rest on its roof. There were only two occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
One male occupant was ejected and died at the scene. The other male occupant was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for life threatening injuries. It is unknown at this time the status of his injuries.
Neither of occupants’ names are being released at this time, awaiting notification to family members. Anyone who may have witnessed this crash is asked to contact the Vermont State Police Barracks in Royalton (802-234-9933), Trooper Collins.

HARTFORD, Vt. – A serious one-car motor vehicle accident on I-91 near Exit 9 this morning resulted in one fatality and one critical injury, according to Vermont State Police. Identities were not immediately released.
The accident occurred shortly before 11:00 a.m., and closed the northbound lanes for nearly an hour. Traffic was diverted at Exit 9. One lane was reopened at around noon, police said. An investigation is continuing.
