I found Sam Killay’s recent letter (Sept. 19) about Claremont’s Hobby Lobby most informative. A new Hobby Lobby has recently opened near my home in Lakewood, California. I brought Mr. Killay’s letter to show the manager in the Lakewood store, and she was rather astounded. She said, “They can’t tell me what to do with my body.”
If what she says is true, the Hobby Lobby’s disallowing female employees from obtaining an abortion is not a nation-wide policy but is instead left to each state’s discretion.
