WINDSOR, Vt. – The Yellow Jackets played host to Oxbow on Saturday, and in a lob-sided affair, Windsor won 46-0 and are back to their winning ways.
After the first quarter, the Jacks had already shot out to a 27-0 lead due to three early touchdowns from Robert Slocum and a pick-six from Caleb Meagher. From there, the home team was in cruise control.
Q2 10:07: Slocum scores his fourth TD from six yards out on a 55-yard, 1:42 drive. Key plays on the drive: Dakohta Sanderson caught a screen pass and took it 26 yards; Jackson Davis took a pitch for 11 yards; quarterback Ryland Richardson scrambled for nine yards. The two point conversion failed and Windsor held a 33-0 lead.
Q2 4:59: Freshman Ethan Belvin punched it in from one yard out to cap off 2:30, 57-yard drive. Key plays on the drive: Richardson rolled out and passed to Slocum for 27 yards; play-action pass to Sanderson for 15 yards; Meagher ran 11 yards down to the 1-yard line.
Windsor went into the half up 40-0 and the second half was full of running-clock and lots of substitutions. One highlight for the Yellow Jackets in the second half was a 41-yard TD pass from Dalton Clifford to Jordan Place with 7:35 left in the third.
After losing two straight games and falling to 1-2, the Jacks have followed that up with two straight tallies in the win column, with the big homecoming win over BFA-Fairfax 15-14 and this 46-0 blowout win.
Windsor now gets the luxury of having a week-six bye, as the next game on their schedule has been cancelled, due to MSJ terminating their football program for the year after struggling to field a team each week.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action on Friday, October 12 when they head to Springfield to take on the Cosmos at 7:00 p.m.
