WINDSOR and WINDHAM counties, Vt. — During the evening hours of Oct. 2, Troopers from the Westminster Barracks conducted a saturation patrol throughout Windsor and Windham County. The purpose of the saturation patrol was to focus on speed enforcement, distracted driving and the detection and apprehension of alcohol/drug impaired operators.
During the patrol, troopers conducted 11 traffic stops. 2 operators were arrested for driving with a suspended license. A separate operator was arrested for possession of a depressant, as well as possession of crack cocaine. A occupant in that vehicle was also arrested on an outstanding warrant, possession of crack cocaine, possession of MDMA, and possession of 20 bags of suspected heroin/fentanyl.
The Vermont State Police would like to remind all motorists to avoid operating under the influence of alcohol/drugs and to always utilize a sober driver.
