Weather Watch

It’s getting cooler

Last week’s weather was rather uninteresting with one exception, a hard rain during the night on Wednesday, into Thursday. Wednesday’s steady rain, al all-day affair, left almost one inch of accumulation before heading east.

A light rain was falling at daybreak on Friday and it was overcast for much of the day.

The 24-hour high temperature at the summit of Mount Washington through noon on Friday was 48.5 while the low was 35.

For those who keep track of weather statistics, on Friday sunrise came at 6:43 a.m. with sunset at 6:36 p.m. It won’t be long before motorists will be driving home in the dark around 5 p.m.
