SAXTONS RIVER, Vt. — On Oct. 7 in the early morning hours, the Vermont State Police, Westminster Barracks responded to a burglary on Pleasant Street in Saxtons River in which money, a bag, and laptop were taken. This was the sixth reported burglary of an occupied dwelling between the hours of approximately 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. hours within the village. During the other burglaries similar items were taken, as well as pocket books and wallets. The suspects have made entry through unlocked doors as well as forcing their way in through doors and windows. Residents are reminded to keep their doors and windows locked when not home or asleep.
During one of the burglaries a homeowner awoke to the attempted burglary and the suspects fled the immediate area on foot. The homeowner described the two suspects as males, possible white, and approximately 5-foot-8-inches to 5-foot-10-inches tall. They were dressed in dark clothing and one male had a small light colored or beige dog with them. If anyone sees any suspicious activity please report it to the State Police.
