Lempster tax rate up $3.98; Newbury drops by 21 cents

CONCORD — The New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration has released the initial batch of property tax rates.

Lempster’s rate has been set at $29.25 per $1,000 of property valuation. This reflects an increase of $3.98 over the 2017 rate of $25.27. A breakdown of the Lempster rate with the 2017 numbers in parenthesis follows:

Municipal, $2.91 ($7.76); county, $3.56 ($2.62); state education, $2.07 ($2.14); local education, $20.71 ($12.75). The 2018 townwide valuation is $103,698,578 ($103,231,889); valuation with utilities, $108,967,278 ($148,500,589); total commitment, $3,152,787 ($3,634,736).

The tax rate for Newbury has dropped slightly by 21 cents per $1,000 at $15.50 compared to $15.71 in 2017.

Municipal, $3.81 ($3.81); county, $2.70, ($2.83); state education, $2.14 ($2.24); local education, $6.85 ($6.83). townwide valuation for 2018 was set at $737,170,249 ($729,526,331); valuation with utilities, $742,087,149 ($734,235,931); total commitment, $11,438,454 ($11,476,151).
