CROYDON — Sara Ann Brown, 81, of Pinnacle Road, died Saturday night, Oct. 6, 2018 at the Sullivan County Healthcare Center in Unity.
She was born on May 19, 1937 in Newport, N.H. the daughter of Frederick O. Wood Sr. and Abby E. (Davis) Aiken.
She was a lifelong resident of Newport, Grantham and Croydon, N.H., and attended Newport and Grantham schools. Sara worked at International Shoe Co. and Newport Shoe Manufacturing Corp. for 16 years and then was employed at Sturm, Ruger for more than 23 years.
She was a member of The Church of the Good Shepherd, United Methodist Church of Newport, and worked with the Youth Group. She was always interested in the children and helped to send kids to camp whenever possible.
Sara is predeceased by an infant daughter, Abby; two grandsons, Nathan J. Clayton and Michael R. Hastings and three brothers, Gilbert A. Wood, Albert Wood and Frederick Wood.
She is survived by her husband, Fred A. Brown of Croydon, N.H.; two daughters, Nancy Ann Brown and her husband, Leonard Ryan of Danbury, N.H. and Donna Smith of Croydon, N.H.; a brother and his wife, Robert and Lois Aiken of Croydon, N.H.; nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018 at the Croydon Flat Cemetery.
